The weather in the summer is always 10 degree cooler than Los Angeles. Summer months it ranges from 75-85 and a few times it has been in the mid-90's later in the summer months around July-Aug. Winters are very mild about 50-60 degrees. There is no need for air conditioning because there is a ocean breeze. In the winter, the fog can be very thick and hard to drive in. When it does rain, it will rain hard for a couple days at a time. We do have earthquakes that are mild. Being by the beach, there has been a couple tsunami warnings within the last 5 years. This beach city has a tsunami warning system and locations where a person would be save.
The schools are good with solid programs and a lot parent involvement. At Huntington Beach High School, they have an separate school for performing arts school that anyone can attend with an application and a separate admission qualifications other than living in the surrounding area. The test scores are higher than some of the other communities.
